The library take down and fashion set up

With the summer moves in full swing, I thought I would update you in how the library move is panning out.

Below is what the library currently looks like. The shelves have all been taken away and distributed around college, the carpet has been removed and sewing machines have been installed where the laptop desks used to be. Both the library and the FLC are going to be converted in to fashion studios, ready for the next academic year. If you need any IT support over the summer period Elias and Tendai are situated in the canteen.

No longer a library but not quite a fashion studio.

Progress on the new library has also started, below are two images of T0.13, which will be part of the new library come September. At the moment the room is being gutted of all fixtures and fittings, plus a couple of walls need to be removed to make the space bigger. Then carpet will be laid, followed by new metal shelving being installed, and a seating area. Then it's just the small job of put 14,000 books, 1500 journal boxes and 2000 DVDs  back onto the shelves. All in time for September!

Two photos of the current print area T0.13, which will make up some of the new library space.

As for Creations, the college shop, this is now closed and currently being packed up ready for moving. The new shop, will be located next to the library and reopening in September. The new shop will be selling new stock, clothes and magazines.

During the summer break, if you need any help please feel free to contact me on lrc@pca.ac.uk and I can arrange to meet you, alternatively if you are after a place to study try T2.10 or T2.12 in college.

The changes in style to the blog are due to Richard Birley who used to write these posts and keep you up to date with the twitter account, has sadly left the college. This means for the foreseeable future I, Donna Gundry, will be writing them. I hope you enjoy them.
